Mark Leishman (Australia) took the lead on the first day of the second round of the LIV Golf 2023 season (total prize money of $25 million).

In the first round of the tournament held at The Gallery Golf Club (par 71, 7,469 yards) in Marana, Arizona, on the 17th, Rishman hit a 6-under 65 to make his name on the top of the leaderboard.

Leishman, who started the game on the fifth hole (par 5), only wrote down bogeys on the 11th hole (par 4), and drove in seven birdies.

Lee, who won six PGA Tour titles, moved to LIV Golf in August last year.

He played on the Korean Tour of the Korean Professional Golfers’ Association (KPGA) in 2006 and is also familiar to Korean fans.

Lee Schuman, a former member of the Australian Professional Golf Tour, passed the foreign seed selection competition newly established by the KPGA in April 2006 and won the Jisan Resort Open in May of that year.

Abram Anser (Mexico), Louis Oosthuizen (South Africa), and Matthew Wolf (USA), who shot 5-under 66, were tied for second place on the day.

All three have one PGA Tour win. Anser continued his good momentum following winning the opening match of the Asian Tour last month.

This was followed by Joaquin Niemann (Chile) and Peter Yulain (USA). David Puig (Spain) tied for fifth with a 4-under 67.

Korean-American players also generally made a good start.

Kevin Na of the U.S., who has won five PGA Tour titles, tied for eighth with Danny Lee of New Zealand at 3-under 68.

However, Kim Si-hwan of the U.S. ranked 48th (7 over 78 strokes).
